The Baptism of the Lord that we celebrate today, along with the descent of the Holy Spirit should remind us of our own baptism.  When our souls were cleansed and we became the adopted children of God, and heirs of heaven.  Whether you were baptized as babies, little children, or if you were baptized as an adult, all sins were washed away and we too received the Holy Spirit.  Baptism also gives us the right to receive the other sacraments and share in the privilege of the Communion of Saints.
